We offer a wide range of health and safety courses. For
more information, please call (859)936-WELL (9355). Among
the courses we offer are:
CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer
This course is design for professional rescuers who need CPR
to meet certification and license requirements; this includes
lifeguards, nurses, emergency personnel, etc. This course includes
adult, infant, and child CPR, 2 person CPR, AED, and the use
of CPR related equipment.
CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer has been accepted by the
National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). The
program has been approved by many state health agencies and may
be used to meet Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare
Organization’s (JACHO) Resuscitation Standard.
CPR & AED for the Community and Workplace
The goal of CPR-AED for the Community and Workplace is to provide
individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to
provide effective basic life support in an emergency.
Emergency Oxygen
Serious and life-threatening medical emergencies often cause
oxygen to be depleted in the body leaving the victim at risk
for cardiac arrest or brain damage. Supplemental oxygen is a
critical step in treating a severe or life-threatening illness
or injury. This program focuses on administering emergency oxygen,
rescue breathing and oxygen delivery devices.
Basic First Aid
Properly applied first aid can saves lives, reduce recovery
time and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary
disability or lifelong disability for the victim. Program participants
learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden
illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies
like bleeding, shock, burns, strains, fractures, allergic reaction,
diabetic and seizures is shared.
Bloodborne Pathogens
This program includes information that will help students understand
what bloodborne pathogens are and how risk of exposure can be
reduced for themselves and others. The program assists in satisfying
the training requirement of the US Department of Labor, OSHA
Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
Essentials in Basic Emergency Care
The Essentials program is designed to arm laypersons with the
minimum knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency care
for the injury or sudden illness during the brief interval between
incident and EMS arrival. This program is ideal for the industrial
setting. It includes adult CPR, AED, first aid, oxygen administration
(awareness level), and bloodborne pathogens (awareness level).
First Responder
This is a 50-60 hour course designed to give people the necessary
skills and knowledge to provide emergency care in many settings.
This is the first level of pre-hospital emergency care. Some
topics covered include treatment of sudden illness and injuries,
care of spinal injury, and EMS operations.
Child and Baby Sitting Safety
The number one priority of this course is to keep you and the
children you care for safe. Babysitting is not just “watching” children,
but being responsible for their safety and well being. When you
are caring for a child, you are taking care of a parent’s
most prized possession. Everything in their home and your own
home can be replaced – everything, that is, except a child.
Babysitting is a big responsibility.
CPR and First Aid classes for hairdressers, cosmetologists
and nail technicians
This program teaches First Aid and CPR techniques and
fulfills the required CEU’s for these professions.
Pet First Aid
Pet first aid is the immediate care given to an injured or suddenly
ill pet as temporary assistance until competent veterinary care
is available. Properly applied first aid can save your pets life,
reduce recovery time and be the difference between temporary
disability and lifelong disability. This program concentrates
on basic first aid care. It is not intended to replace veterinary
care. It is not intended to replace veterinary care, but rather
to instruct the pet owner on how to save a pet’s life during
an emergency or to minimize a pet’s trauma after an injury.
Hazard Communication (HAZCOM)
Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) training will help you understand
the potential dangers of the chemicals in your workplace. It
will teach you how to identify chemicals and how to access and
read your organization’s hazardous material manuals. You
will be taught how to read warning labels and Material Safety
Data Sheets (MSDS). Most importantly, you will learn the necessary
information to keep yourself and others safe.
When Disaster Strikes
Throughout time, mankind has been dealing with the threat of
disaster. Disasters come in two forms, natural or manmade. Sometimes
disasters can strike without warning. Your only defense is your
ability to prepare.
